On 20th-23rd March, Sustainable Clevedon hosted the Green Shift Festival—a local event dedicated to inspiring passion, action, and change for environmental causes. The festival brought together individuals, charities, and community groups all working toward a more sustainable future.
We were proud to be part of the Green Shift Fair in St Johns Hall in Clevedon on the Saturday, where a mix of environmentally focused organisations filled the space with ideas, initiatives and resources to support North Somerset in becoming more sustainable.
It was an especially exciting day for Zero Carbon North Somerset as we officially launched our Library of Things! This new initiative is all about sharing resources between community groups to reduce waste, save money, and build community resilience. We had lots of great conversations with visitors and other community groups about how the Library works and what kinds of items they’d like to see available to borrow.
For myself, the best part of the day was being surrounded by so many like-minded people. It was genuinely uplifting to see such a strong turnout of individuals and community groups all taking meaningful action for the environment / sustainability. Events like this are a powerful reminder that while individual action matters, collective action is so powerful.
